The 2010 Vegetable Basket Program

EdPeg

Did you know that Manna on Main Street is a proud member of the Community Nutrition Coalition?  The Coalition is a network of food pantries working together to provide food and nutrition education to those in need in the Greater North Penn / Indian Valley area.  Therefore, we can ensure that all our neighbors throughout this extended community have equal access to vital, life sustaining food.

In the summer, all of the participating pantries benefit from The Vegetable Basket Program.  Through this program, home gardeners can drop off their extra crops every Monday morning at 9 am and ensure that the produce will be distributed to those in need.  For the gardeners, it's a convenient way to give back.  For the food pantry guests, it's an inexpensive way to feed their families nutritious, locally grown food.  For more information, visit the Coalition's website at www.nutritioncoalition.org.  To read a newspaper article about the 2009 Vegetable Basket Program, CLICK HERE.

Help us celebrate our book, Those People: Outsiders Welcomed to Manna on Main Street. Books are available at Manna, or online at Infinity Publishing or Amazon.

Want to read the first four chapters of Those People? Email us and we will send them to you for free.

Opportunities to help

We are most in need of help with the following projects:

Join us in making healthy snacks for the Boys & Girls Club After-School Homework Program!

Help out by answering phones and acting as a greeter at our front desk!

Lend your muscles and help us transport canned goods to our off-site storage unit!

Band together with some friends and scrub this buiding clean!

Contact Liz Coyne for more details on how you can get involved!
